Akira Nishimura is a Managing Director in Heitman’s Client Service & Marketing group. Based in Tokyo, Akira is responsible for leading the client service and marketing of Heitman’s products across Asia. Prior to joining Heitman, Akira was Senior Managing Director, Co-Head of Investor Relations –Asia-Pacific and Head of Capital for Global Indirect Investment at LaSalle Investment Management, where he led capital raising for LaSalle’s funds across Japan and was a key leader in growing the firm’s real estate securities and indirect investment businesses. Akira has held senior roles at several large financial institutions including Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, and Mizuho Financial Group, and began his career at Fuji Bank.

Akira received a BA in Economics from Keio University and a MS in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a registered real estate transaction manager, ARES Certified Master in Japan, and a US CPA. Akira is also a member of ANREV’s Membership Committee.
